Pentium III CPUs To Include Hard-Coded ID Numbers
Intel has announced that upcoming Pentium III CPUs will include unique, hard-coded 64-bit serial numbers to help identify the processors’ host machines. The numbers can be accessed remotely by anyone who has the right client software.
